Picture Sizes and Resizing

Homepage Banner Picture sizes

In Finalsite there are recommended picture sizes for the Homepage banner and other sections of the Homepage

Below is a screenshot of what this looks like.

Where to find Picture sizes

In the Finalsite Composer tree there is an instructions branch. The Instructions branch is located in the lower portion of your school/site Composer tree.

To get to the Instructions click on the Instructions branch to expand it.

Next click on the instructions that appears under the the main part of the instructions branch.

Now with the instructions expanded you will see different sets of instructions including one for Image Sizes

Once this is selected you will see the different recommended sizes. The Main Hero Slide show is the top banner of your Homepage.

Resizing Pictures

Before loading any photo to your main banner you will need to make sure that it is sized properly.

Here are step by step instructions on resizing

First locate the file on your computer. The picture has to be in a local file not on your google drive. You should be able to find it in your finder.

Look for the picture name where ever it was saved. This could be on your desktop or documents. Just need know where the picture was saved.

With the picture selected then right click with your mouse. Now select Open With then select Preview.

Now that the picture is open in preview there is a tool bar at the top of you screen.

In this tool bar click on Tools and a drop down will appear with your options. One of the options is Adjust size which is what you want to select.

Here you will be able to input the recommended dimensions. But first uncheck the Scale proportionally box Then input the recommended dimensions.
